Current Responsibility

Robin is a consulting actuary in the Amsterdam office of Milliman and joined the company in 2010. He has more than 15 years of consulting experience in the insurance industry. He is also Robin a lecturer for the European Actuarial Academy on the topic of replicating portfolios and he regularly publishes articles on Solvency II for pension funds (IORPs).

Experience

Robin started his career as insurance consultant 15 years ago. Over the years, Robin has done a large number of actuarial consulting assignments. He is specialised in life insurance covering all areas, such as pricing, product development, valuation, modelling, Solvency II, replicating portfolios, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and model validation.

Between 2005 and 2010, Robin worked as a consultant at Towers Watson Risk Consulting in the Netherlands. Besides M&A projects, during this period Robin was responsible for a number of MCEV review and regulatory reporting projects. He was also responsible for the development and modelling of a cash-flow projection system at a large Dutch insurer. Robin started his consulting career at William M. Mercer in 1997 as a graduate from university.

Additionally, he has a strong IT-related background. He knows several programming languages (Delphi and VB/VBA, among others), databases (SQL) and actuarial software packages (including MoSes and Prophet).
