Current Responsibility

Brad is a principal and consulting actuary with the Milwaukee office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 2000.

Brad works in Milliman's healthcare practice. He assists clients with capitation rate development, benefit analysis, premium rate development, estimation of the impact of legislation reform, estimation of reserves and liabilities, and actuarial projections. He has also assisted MA-PDs and employers with strategic planning, Medicare bid preparation, RDS attestation, contracting and risk sharing arrangements, and other issues related to Medicare.

Brad has worked with Medicare Advantage clients since the program's inception in 2006. He developed Part C and Part D bids for Medicare Advantage plans in all stages of their operation, from start-ups to established plans with considerable enrollment. He has assisted with the development of hundreds of bids since the inception of the Medicare Advantage program.

In addition to bid development, he also assists with related Medicare Advantage work including feasibility analysis of product launches, feasibility analysis of service area expansion, profit and loss analysis, comparisons of experience to fee-for-service levels, and the impact of health care reform.

  • Brad co-authored the Milliman publication, "Payment Reform will Impact Medicare Advantage" in early 2011.
  • Brad co-authored "The Medicare Advantage 5-Star Rating Program and its Implications for Actuaries," which was published in the Society of Actuaries' Health Watch May 2012 issue.
