Current Responsibility

Jeff is a consulting actuary in the Milliman Southern Employee Benefits Practice (SEB). He works with clients across the South from the firm's Atlanta office. Jeff is responsible for building strong relationships, delivering strategic advice and solutions to complex business issues, and mentoring and training junior staff.

Experience

Jeff has been helping clients optimize employee benefit plans since 1997. He is familiar with the opportunities and challenges that private plan sponsors are facing in the banking, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, transportation, and retail industries. Jeff's professional expertise is focused on the strategic, operational, and financial aspects of defined benefit and postemployment benefit plans with an emphasis on risk management. He has successfully delivered a wide variety of assignments, including:

  • IRS defined benefit plan funding
  • ERISA reporting and compliance
  • Executive benefits and proxy disclosures
  • Employee benefit plan accounting, including international, US GAAP, NAIC ("Statutory"), and CASB cost accounting rules
  • Pension and postemployment benefit plan design
  • Risk management
  • Workforce planning and HR analytics

Prior to joining Milliman, he was a consulting actuary with other well-known global actuarial consulting firms. Before starting his actuarial career, he was a physical chemist and worked on a project sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense.
