Current Responsibility

Mona Jani is an associate actuary with the Washington, D.C., office of Milliman. She joined the firm in 2001. She has more than fourteen years of actuarial experience in employee benefits.

Experience

Mona has been involved in various aspects of pension work for both public and private sector retirement plans, including actuarial valuations, creating benefit calculators for defined benefit plans, and special cost studies. Her experience also includes working with the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) to calculate benefits and create benefit statements for terminated pension plans.

Mona currently manages and reviews technical calculations of public and private plan liabilities and analysis for special actuarial studies. She has been involved in all aspects of actuarial valuations, data reconciliation and manipulation, calculating benefit statements, preparing government filings, as well as writing client correspondence and reports.

She has extensive knowledge on retirement plans terminating with the PBGC from analyzing plan provisions, calculating benefits, developing benefit statements, and writing reports, to frequent communications with various actuaries and plan administrators. Some of her most recent clients include the Florida Retirement System, Virginia Municipal League/Virginia County GASB45, and the PBGC. She has conducted multiple training sessions on PBGC plan termination procedures, technical calculations, benefit statements, and valuation reports.

Mona previously worked for the Milliman office in Philadelphia, and CIGNA Insurance in Philadelphia, as an actuarial analyst.
