Current Responsibility

Bret Linton is a principal and consulting actuary with the Seattle office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 2009.

Bret has worked with a variety of private, multiemployer, and public employers specializing in retirement plan consulting. Assignments include actuarial valuations, assumption studies, asset/liability studies, healthcare plan design consulting, budgeting and cost projections, plan amendments, and nondiscrimination testing. Other areas of experience include merger and acquisition due diligence, post-merger integration, and spinoffs and plan administration. Bret also created Milliman’s Daily Pension Tracker tool (MDPT) to help clients value their plans on a daily basis and provide the information needed to implement a dynamic asset allocation strategy (e.g., glide path investment strategies) and to determine when to reallocate assets and reduce volatility risk.

Prior to joining Milliman, Bret performed HR operational due diligence for private equity investors and strategic buyers. His experience includes cost analysis of HR programs, benefit integration analysis, assessing financial risk exposures, transition services agreements, and negotiating benefit programs.

Bret is fluent in Spanish. He has mentored and led training sessions to Spanish-speaking actuaries and pension administrators.
