Current Responsibility

Sam is an implementation manager and is responsible for the implementation team for Milliman's Southern Employee Benefits (SEB) group. He has more than 15 years of experience in the industry and joined the firm in 2015. His responsibilities include:

  • New business implementation
  • Development and delivery of plan level enhancements for the existing client base
  • Thought leadership for process improvement


Prior to joining Milliman, Sam was director of implementations and conversions for The Newport Group. In this role, he was in charge of a specialized team of project managers responsible for on-boarding all non-qualified retirement plans (transition and startup) onto the platform for clients ranging from small propriety shops to Fortune 5 companies.

Sam also served as assistant vice president-director for operations for Aon Hewitt's executive benefits practice. In that position, he directed the teams responsible for all of the day-to-day administration and recordkeeping responsibilities, ongoing product support and maintenance for their institutional clients, and the implementation of new business.

Sam has extensive experience in managing several different operational teams servicing retirement plan clients with a specialized focus on plan conversions with a focus on multiple types of plans such as 401(k), 403(b), 457(f), and top-hat deferred compensations plans.
