Current Responsibility

Cosmin is a consultant with Milliman's Life practice in Bucharest, Romania. He joined the firm in April 2009.


Cosmin has 9 years of insurance experience, having served as an actuarial analyst for two life insurance companies in the Romanian market prior joining Milliman.

Since joining Milliman, he has been involved in several Life-practice-related projects, including market-consistent embedded value (MCEV) reporting, Solvency II and actuarial modelling.

He has 9 years of experience as a Prophet user, working on projects such as product development, model enhancements for the transition to MCEV, model optimizations and corrections. He has also been involved other Prophet-based projects like Solvency II model review for a life company in Greece, ALM model review for a life company in Italy and FLAOR reporting for a life company in Romania.

Prior joining Milliman, Cosmin was involved in the development of the MCEV reporting infrastructure and MCEV reporting projects. He is also experienced in using the Data Conversion System (DCS) for internal reporting and data processing for Prophet inputs.

He has experience in using other actuarial projection systems, including MG-ALFA®, implementing pension models and models for Solvency II, valuations and Algo Financial Modeler (AFM) for MCEV reporting.

Cosmin has been involved in implementing short interest rate models, as a member of the programming team that developed an economic scenario generator based on the Hull-White model.

He also provided actuarial support in a data administration system replacement project for a life insurance company, where he was responsible for the implementation and testing of life products, reserving, reinsurance and a reporting module.
