Experience

Prior to Milliman, Albert spent more than seven years in the direct life industry as a life actuary. He worked for companies including AIA China, AVIVA Asia Pacific, and Prudential Singapore.

Albert is a well-rounded actuary with experience in both pricing and valuation. For two years prior to joining Milliman, he was head of an eight-member EEV team at Prudential Singapore. Albert's recent assignments include carrying out appraisal valuations of life insurance companies using Prophet in recent merger and acquisition projects in Malaysia.

In his early career at AIA China, he was the main force supporting the actuarial department on Prophet modeling and maintenance.

Later at AVIVA Asia Pacific, he played a role as internal consultant in the regional pricing team, providing advice and support to the whole team on pricing and modeling of products across over the Southeast Asia region.

At Prudential Singapore, one of Albert's roles was Prophet manager. He was in charge of the development and management of both deterministic models and stochastic models, including new product coding, model enhancement, model structuring, and design. He developed Prophet management policy and process, model documentation, and model-related SOX control. His team also provided advice and support on financial modeling to the actuarial department.
