Current Responsibility

Stephanie Noonan is a consulting health actuary in the Milliman Southern Employee Benefits Practice (SEB). As a credentialed actuary, she is responsible for actuarial reports and analysis for medical, dental, life, disability, paid time off, and other ancillary plans. In addition to her actuarial duties, she is also responsible for project management and delivery of health and group benefits services for the Milliman SEB.

Stephanie has extensive experience in consulting with clients on employee benefit issues. She has worked with a wide variety of private and public clients in the following areas:

  • Performing merger and acquisition due diligence on health plans
  • Setting budgets and premium equivalent rates
  • Implementing consumer-driven health plans
  • Assessing rate renewals from insurance carriers
  • Working on large, complex actuarial projects such as health care reform strategic impact Studies
  • Calculating IBNR reserves
  • Benchmarking plan designs and recommending changes
  • Calculating the value of plan design changes using Milliman’s proprietary actuarial cost model, Health Cost Guidelines and Dental Cost Guidelines
  • Performing retiree medical valuations
  • Evaluating the feasibility of self-insurance
  • Performing Medicare Part D Attestations

Experience

Prior to joining Milliman, Stephanie had nearly 10 years of extensive actuarial experience in the insurance industry working in areas such as asset/liability management, financial reporting, and product development.
