Current Responsibility

Experience

Bob has significant experience on a wide range of property and casualty consulting projects. His areas of expertise include pricing, loss reserving, and financial modeling for multi-national insurers, specialty insurers, reinsurers, and self-insurers. He has been the lead consultant on many large, firm-wide client assignments often involving multiple lines of business, currencies, and languages.

Bob has particular expertise in understanding the cost drivers associated with state workers’ compensation systems throughout the United States and has specific expertise on the issues surrounding New York, Florida, Texas, and California. Bob’s involvement in the workers’ compensation self-insurance market includes pricing and loss reserving for school boards, municipalities, the heating industry, the home healthcare industry, and the construction industry.

Bob often leads Milliman’s efforts as project manager on loss reserving and due diligence financing transactions for multinational insurers operating throughout North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. This also includes major reinsurance loss reserving assignments for reinsurance companies operating in the United States, Canada, Bermuda, London, and European markets.

Bob also assists clients in their efforts to form property and casualty insurance companies, providing advice on loss reserving, reserve variability, capital considerations, rate structures, and reinsurance programs.

Presentations and publications

Bob is often asked to speak at industry-sponsored seminars on topics involving loss reserving for reinsurers and workers’ compensation issues, as well as before state insurance departments, workers’ compensation boards and commissions, employer groups, his actuarial colleagues, and the investment community.
