Current Responsibility

Kelly is a consulting actuary with the Life practice of Milliman’s Seattle office. She joined the firm in 2014.

Kelly has spent most of her actuarial career developing and managing successful life insurance products and programs. She led product management for Symetra’s Individual Life Division and also served as the line actuary. Her experience includes pricing and product development along with in-force management and financial reporting, for both individual life products and bank-owned life insurance/company-owned life insurance (BOLI/COLI).

Kelly has a passion for helping companies optimize their product development processes from ideation through launch. She works with other professional services firms to ensure that the team of consultants has expertise in all product development matters, from actuarial to systems. Kelly also consults on all BOLI/COLI issues from the varying perspectives of carrier, distributor, administrator, and end customer.

Kelly has established significant expertise in model validation since joining Milliman. She has reviewed MG-ALFA® models along with supporting inforce files and assumptions, as well as the supporting back-end processes to these models, which can often contain pitfalls due to poorly controlled manual processes.

She also has experience working on complex mergers and acquisitions transactions, including deep-dive analysis of various reserving and reinsurance structures and review of audit workpapers.
