Current Responsibility

Lindsy is a consulting actuary with the Minneapolis office of Milliman. She joined the firm in 2009.

Experience

Lindsy works with a variety of stakeholders in the health industry. She consults to commercial health insurers, private Medicare and Medicaid plans, government health programs, and healthcare providers.

Lindsy has been deeply involved in helping insurers and other stakeholders navigate healthcare reform. She also assists Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans with bid development, pricing, and strategy. More recently she has been focusing on provider payment analytics and payment reform.

Lindsy works on a variety of projects involving benefit pricing, comprehensive population modeling, benchmarking, reserving, risk adjustment, and independent strategic review. One of her more recent projects involved an end-to-end review of an insurer’s provider contracting process and models.

In the past, Lindsy also developed premium rates for a state’s high-risk pool for several years.

Lindsy has published a variety of papers on healthcare reform and the state of the health industry. Her most recent publication explores the growing value of actuaries in the healthcare provider space. The article was featured in the April 2018 issue of the Health Financial Management Association (HFMA) magazine, titled How Healthcare Providers Can Reap the Benefits of an Actuarial Mindset.
