Martijn Fonville
Martijn Fonville is a consulting actuary in the Amsterdam office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 2009, and has mainly worked on IFRS 17 and Solvency II-related projects since then.
Experience
Martijn has over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry. Currently, he is involved in the preparation for IFRS 17 at one of the largest insurance companies in the Netherlands, where he is responsible for writing the implementation requirements for the central accounting tool.
Prior to this, he developed and validated parts of some internal models for Solvency II reporting purposes, with a specific focus on market risk models, premium and reserve risk models, and models to determine the risk on disability insurance products (incidence and recovery risk).
Next to this, he has extensive knowledge of longevity risk modelling, and experience in multiple software packages and programming languages.
Before joining Milliman he worked as an Analyst in J.P. Morgan's London office for 2.5 years. During this period he worked on the development of structured securities for insurance companies for the purpose of capital raising and risk management.
