Milliman Actuarial Retirement Calculator™ (MARC 5™), released in fall 2007, can accommodate several different types of clients and installations. The system can be installed on a standalone client computer, a client server with or without Internet connection, or can be partially or fully hosted by Milliman. Systems outsourced to Milliman are available with or without plan sponsor access.

MARC's technical requirements for system, software, and reporting are as follows:

System requirements

• Windows XP Professional® or Windows Vista® operating systems
• 2 GHz or faster processor
• 512 MB or more of RAM
• 1 GB or more of free disk space
• HP-compatible laser printer

Software requirements

MARC requires Microsoft SQL Server™ 2005 software; SQL Server Standard, Enterprise, or Express editions can be used with MARC. For shared installations, we recommend SQL Server Standard or Enterprise edition installed on dedicated server hardware and the Express edition for standalone and test installations of MARC.

Reporting

A report-writing software package is required if you wish to create customized reports using MARC's database. MARC supports Crystal Reports® XI.
