Automation decreases enrollment busywork
Human resources personnel at a 9,000-employee hospital system usually spent three weeks each year sorting stacks of enrollment forms during and after the annual enrollment period. They relied on temporary workers to perform additional data entry and assist in massive photocopying efforts. Milliman automated the enrollment process, provided the election information back to the client to upload into the payroll system, and transmitted the eligibility to insurance carriers electronically. Our work eliminated the need for data entry, photocopying election forms, and manual entry by the carriers. Not only does the company no longer need to hire contingent personnel, its own staff is able to complete weeks of administrative work in only one or two days. In addition, the accuracy of the election information held by the carriers was vastly improved.
