Asset analysis yielded immediate savings
One client came to us recently after working with a broker-dealer to set its asset allocation. Milliman's analysis revealed the broker had invested the plan entirely in retail mutual funds, on which the broker earned—and the company paid—a higher fee. The once-smaller fund had seen its assets grow to where this was no longer an appropriate investment vehicle.
Milliman experts were able to quickly move the assets into institutional share class mutual funds at lower fees, saving the client more than $30,000 annually. In addition, a check of asset levels led to rebalancing the portfolio, which also yielded higher returns.
