Evaluating strategies to increase sales

One broker-dealer called on Milliman for assistance in developing a life insurance product and distribution strategy. We assessed the feasibility of various product types suitable to its existing producers and consumers. Then, we identified potential insurance company partners with capabilities that matched these characteristics.

Milliman also developed specific compensation approaches designed to offer consumer value, while increasing the odds of achieving and exceeding revenue goals. As a result of this project, the broker-dealer revised its product lineup and existing alliances to work with a select list of insurance company strategic partners. Sales of insurance products increased and are on target to exceed goals.

Monitoring products to analyze profitability and competitiveness

One carrier contacted Milliman to review its existing products to verify that they were achieving profit targets. Products that were not meeting profit targets were replaced by new ones that met management's profit objectives, yet remained competitive.
