Audits of captive insurance companies can often be longer and more painful than captive owners ever expected. One area that can cause an audit to drag on is the review of a captive's loss reserves, often the largest liability on a captive's balance sheet. The seminar will show the critical areas of loss reserves, and relate the 1) accounting, 2) actuarial and 3) operational implications of managing the establishment of a loss reserve.
