Milliman Releases MG-ALFA® Version 6.6

Evaluation Associates announces management reorganization


Norwalk—Evaluation Associates, a Milliman Company, today announced that responsibility for the day-to-day management of the firm has been reorganized along service lines. Hedging programs withstand market downturn


Seattle—Milliman, Inc., one of the premier global consulting and actuarial firms, today released results of a study measuring the effectiveness of hedging products that contain investment guarantees such as variable annuities. Hedging results from the 16 study respondents revealed few unanticipated losses and validated the efficacy of financial risk management programs, many of which have been implemented since the last significant market downturn.

Milliman says 2008 medical cost for "American family of four" exceeds $15,600


Seattle—Milliman, Inc., one of the premier global consulting and actuarial firms, announced today that average total medical spending for its "typical American family of four" reached $15,609 in 2008, an increase of $1,109 over the preceding year. The finding is contained in the fourth annual Milliman Medical Index™.

Milliman, Inc., completes quantitative analysis of consumer-driven health plans


Seattle—Milliman, Inc., today released results of a study to measure the cost effectiveness of consumer-driven health plans (CDHPs). Working in concert with the National Business Group on Health (NBGH) and six of its member firms, Milliman completed a quantitative analysis of employer programs that offer their employees a choice of CDHPs or non-CDHPs. These programs covered approximately 225,000 members with more than 30,000 enrolled in a CDHP. The actual CDHP penetration of the six employers ranged from 4.4% to 76%.
