The Portland, Oregon Employee Benefits Practice is seeking a Consulting Actuary. The successful candidate will have 5–10 years of consulting experience and must be an Enrolled Actuary.

Opportunities include:

  • Consulting services to a broad group of clients
  • Participating on and managing projects while working with other experienced consultants and actuaries
  • Interacting with clients on a regular basis and making in-person presentations
  • Assist in marketing of all retirement program services
  • Assist in training and development of staff

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and experience with all aspects of for-profit and non-profit corporate sponsored defined benefit plans including funding requirements and FAS 87 / FAS 106 accounting
  • Multiemployer experience including SOP 92-6 is a plus
  • Public sector experience including GASB 45 experience is a plus
  • Excellent computer skills; a working knowledge of C, Visual Basic or Fortran is also a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work with project teams
  • Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • High degree of self-motivation
  • ASA, FSA, or other certifications are a plus
