The Portland, Oregon Employee Benefits Practice is seeking a Database Analyst. This position is responsible for ongoing data analysis and maintenance of pension plan databases.

Responsibilities

  • Solve business problems through the analysis, presentation, and manipulation of data in support of ad-hoc and ongoing requests
  • Modify, test, and deploy database structural changes
  • Identify, analyze, and assist in executing improvements to processes and procedures

Requirements

In order to meet these responsibilities, it is expected that the job candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Intermediate or higher level skills in Microsoft® Access, Microsoft® Excel, SQL, and Visual Basic for Applications
  • Experience working with a variety of information systems and data files
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude
  • Ability to solve problems efficiently while being innovative and creative
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to track multiple tasks and issues, set goals and prioritize tasks

The following qualifications are preferred, but are not required:

  • Experience using Microsoft® Visual Basic or Visual Basic.net
  • Familiarity with stored procedures and DTS packages
  • Experience in the payroll or employee benefits fields
