The Portland, Oregon Employee Benefits Practice is seeking a Database Analyst. This position is responsible for ongoing data analysis and maintenance of pension plan databases.
Responsibilities
- Solve business problems through the analysis, presentation, and manipulation of data in support of ad-hoc and ongoing requests
- Modify, test, and deploy database structural changes
- Identify, analyze, and assist in executing improvements to processes and procedures
Requirements
In order to meet these responsibilities, it is expected that the job candidate will meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Intermediate or higher level skills in Microsoft® Access, Microsoft® Excel, SQL, and Visual Basic for Applications
- Experience working with a variety of information systems and data files
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude
- Ability to solve problems efficiently while being innovative and creative
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to track multiple tasks and issues, set goals and prioritize tasks
The following qualifications are preferred, but are not required:
- Experience using Microsoft® Visual Basic or Visual Basic.net
- Familiarity with stored procedures and DTS packages
- Experience in the payroll or employee benefits fields
