Job description

The New York Region Employee Benefits Practice is always interested in reviewing resumes for Defined Contribution Analysts in our Albany location.

Position purpose

Provide recordkeeping, reporting and client support in the administration and maintenance of daily recordkeeping clients. Assist Team Leaders and Consultants with client relationships and consulting.

Responsibilities

Essential duties

  • Reconcile daily and periodic retirement plan accounts to trust accounts
  • Research and resolve day-to-day client processing issues (internally and externally)
  • Review Cash Management staff transactions and processing
  • Gather client data and conduct annual compliance testing
  • Periodic contribution calculations, allocations, as necessary
  • Draft annual compliance testing report
  • Draft Government reporting forms: Form 5500, 1099, etc
  • Assure timely preparation, printing and publication of client reports and statements (monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Assist with plan implementations (database setup, conference call coordination, asset transfer and reconciliations)
  • Maintain an updated status on project tracking system for ongoing client administration
  • Additional tasks as identified by acting supervisor

Experience

Minimum requirements

  • 4-year college degree minimum
  • A minimum of 3-5 years retirement plan administration, recordkeeping and systems (DB or DC) experience
  • 401(k) recordkeeping system experience a must (Sungard OMNI preferred, but not required)
  • Database and spreadsheet experience, including designing queries, functions and macros to manipulate, summarize and reformat data
  • Accounting or reconciliation of trust account experience
  • Attention to detail, especially the review of team work product
  • Knowledge of investments, trust company and brokerage operations
  • Computer experience 3-5 years (Windows, Microsoft® Office, Retirement Plan recordkeeping systems)

Secondary (preferable)

  • ASPPA/NIPA/CEBS designations or working knowledge of retirement plan regulations (ERISA, DOL, IRS)
  • Customer service, client relationship management and seminar experience
