Milliman has established a practice focused on the development of health risk adjuster tools for the underwriting market. Three of our practices (Minneapolis, Denver and Seattle) are collaborating to build these products, and we are seeking a Profit Center Manager to lead the marketing and coordinate the product development.

The Profit Center Manager will have full responsibility for all aspects of leading and helping to build a strong portfolio of products, the first ones of which are currently ready for market. Responsibilities include development of a product plan, marketing the products, understanding the market for the products and therefore leading the ongoing development, and coordination of technical aspects of development. Note that this position does not include consulting, but does include significant client interaction.

Compensation will specifically reflect success in the practice, initially including success on specific goals, secondly on successful sales, and ultimately on profitability. Furthermore, success in the practice can lead to equity principalship resulting in a share of ownership in the practice.

A candidate for the Profit Center Manager position must be self-directed, have project management skills, understand the marketplace, and be comfortable interacting with clients. We are interested in an individual who thrives in the development and maintenance of client relationships, builds personal expertise, encourages growth in other members of the team, and adds new energy and insight to the practice. We believe that the best background for the position is actuarial (FSA or ASA), but other backgrounds may also be useful.

Our preference is that the individual would be located in Minneapolis, Denver, or Seattle, but we may be open to locating in another Milliman office.
