Job description

The New York Region Employee Benefits Practice is seeking a Regional Sales Manager.

Responsibilities

The Regional Sales Manager will report to the Director /Sales & Marketing for the New York Region Employee Benefits Practice located in the New York City office. This position will be responsible for the sales and client service delivery within the region and be expected to take the lead in implementing the sales and service strategy and delivering the capabilities message to the prospect universe and the client base. This position will work closely with associates from across the firm including; sales, operations, client services, communications, implementation, administration, compliance and marketing. Additional activities will include:

  • Handle sales activities; cold calling, prospect development, proposal writing and presentations
  • Generate new business sales through active management of the prospect base
  • Analyze targeted opportunities and leverage existing relationships within the sales territory
  • Maintain a solid understanding of all products and services offered

Experience

  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits especially defined contribution plans
  • Experience (5+ years) selling employee benefit products

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would match the following additional criteria:

  • Demonstrates the ability to sell concepts and a process
  • Displays strong presentation and inter-personal communication skills
  • Self-confident, self-motivated, results-oriented and proactive
  • Bright, high energy, strong work ethic, must be a team player
  • Computer literate, comfortable using a laptop in presentations
  • Has solid business acumen; comfortable relating to executive level contacts
  • Ability to travel approximately 40% within the geography
  • Undergraduate degree; graduate degree a plus

Additional information

Location: The Regional office is located in New York City. The ideal candidate would also be located in New York City. The territory includes the following Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, D.C. and West Virginia. Travel is expected to be 40% within the Region.
