Current responsibility

John is a principal with the New York office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 1996. John is responsible for the delivery of health and welfare client consulting and actuarial services.
 

Experience

John has more than 25 years of experience in health and welfare product development, pricing, underwriting, and plan design for all group coverages, including retiree healthcare valuations. He consults on a variety of issues with some of the New York office’s largest corporate and Taft-Hartley clients and is lead health and welfare consultant on the SEIU Local 1199 Benefit Funds.

John's experience includes:

  • Plan design and cost containment studies
  • Utilization benchmarking studies
  • Projection of health plan contribution rates and expenses
  • Assistance in collective bargaining negotiations
  • Evaluation of cost impact of new legislation such as healthcare reform
  • Reserve calculations
  • Development of retiree valuation healthcare assumptions
