Helen provides consulting services to payors and providers, focusing on medical value and evidence-based medicine.

From 2007 to 2011, she was a Managing Editor at Milliman Care Guidelines with responsibility for clinical content for case and disease management, prior authorization, new technology assessment, and referral guidelines.

Before joining Milliman, Helen worked in the area of care guideline development and implementation for more than 15 years.

She also has extensive experience as a medical director, implementing utilization management, case management, disease management, and quality improvement programs for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial managed care operations.

Prior to her career in managed health care, Helen practiced general internal medicine for more than 10 years. She was chair of the department of medicine at a large community hospital and held an appointment as Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine, UCLA School of Medicine.
