Current responsibility
Steve leads Milliman’s Tokyo office as CEO-Japan.
He joined Milliman in 1988 and moved to Japan in 1992 to help establish the Tokyo office. He served as Managing Director in Japan between July 1996 and December 2004.
After returning to the US, Steve assumed the position of Life Research Director.
He was named CEO-Japan in January, 2012.
Experience
For more than twenty years, Steve has consulted to Japanese life insurance companies on financial and strategic management issues, M&A, corporate restructuring, and demutualization.
As Life Research Director, Steve manages worldwide research efforts for Milliman’s life practice.
Steve’s personal research interests include enterprise risk management, with a focus on organization risk, internal communications, and the sharing of knowledge within an organization. In addition, he has developed innovative approaches to the modeling of macroeconomic and geo-political risks.
