Current responsibility
Joanna is a senior enterprise risk management (ERM) consultant in the Chicago office of Milliman. Her primary responsibilities include delivering customized results-focused enterprise risk solutions and integrating these results into performance management, stakeholder management, and operational excellence for clients.
In addition, Joanna is the Assistant Director of the Milliman Risk Institute, which supports Enterprise Risk Management research and development. The Milliman Risk Institute Advisory Board meets on a semi-annual basis and conducts corporate surveys and publishes the results along with expert commentary.
Experience
Joanna is skilled in assisting clients identify, assess, prioritize, and mitigate their enterprise-level business for sustaining and growing operations. Her consulting experience has been focused in providing insurance and risk management solutions for Fortune 500 companies. She has formulated unique solutions to protect and grow her clients' asset base and corporate earnings in risk-managed environments. She has, among other engagements, trained an international gas company on how to build an internal ERM framework, provided growth and sustaining strategies to a national healthcare system, identified gaps in a retail company's commercial insurance program, and analyzed a fortune 100 pharmaceutical company’s sales and marketing initiatives.
Prior to joining Milliman, Joanna was an integral part of Aon’s Enterprise Risk Management group, where she assisted in the development of the ERM value proposition in addition to serving as the project manager for engagements. She has also worked in the Insurance Advisory group at Ernst & Young and in the Risk Management Consulting department at Liberty Mutual, assisting clients in identifying key risks, implementing and assessing performance metrics, and ultimately managing their total cost of risk. Her consulting services cover many industries, such as insurance, healthcare, energy, manufacturing, and retail.
Having lived and studied in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for 11 years, Joanna also draws on her international experience in working with global clients.Education
