Current responsibility
Chris is an actuary with the Milwaukee office of Milliman.
Experience
Chris has experience with healthcare and long-term care programs, with more than 10 years of experience in these areas. He has assisted various entities, including health plans, employers, insurance companies, and Medicare/Medicaid programs. He has helped clients with experience analysis, valuation of reserves, product development and pricing, appraisals, and financial projections.
Examples of Chris’ expertise include the following:
- Worked with organizations to help measure their healthcare costs versus regional and national benchmarks.
- Helped an employer with its budget targets and rate setting for its employee health plan.
- Assisted health plans with their annual statement of actuarial opinion regarding their statutory liabilities.
- Worked with health plans and prescription drugs plans to submit their Medicare Advantage bids to CMS.
- Conducted firm-wide research and development of related tools for prescription drug benefits in Milliman’s Health Cost Guidelines.
- Evaluated the adequacy of active life reserves and claim reserves for long-term care insurance companies.
- Developed actuarial appraisals for multiple long-term care insurance blocks of business.
Chris has been a speaker at LTC industry and Society of Actuaries meetings.
Chris also recently spent two years working in the analytics division for a healthcare data analysis and care management vendor, which warehoused more than 40 different payors’ medical, prescription drug, and biometric datasets.
