Current responsibility

John leads Milliman's strategic rewards practice. He works with organizations to develop and implement strategic pay programs that maximize the effectiveness of base pay design, incentive pay programs, total compensation strategy, performance management systems, and executive compensation plans.
 

Experience

John has more than 20 years of experience in the design and implementation of executive and employee total compensation and incentive pay programs. He has in-depth experience in the telecommunications, utility, not-for-profit, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and high-technology industries.

John has extensive experience in the design and administration of a wide variety of job measurement systems. His consulting experience includes:

  • Developing employee and climate surveys
  • Designing a wide variety of variable pay systems
  • Conducting gap analyses
  • Compensation philosophy and strategy development
  • Short and long-term incentive design
  • Total compensation strategy

John's efforts in the area of total compensation have led to the development of a proprietary method of assessing the value of an employer's benefit plans in conjunction with their cash compensation programs.

Recent work has focused on building strong links between business strategy and pay program design across all employee groups.
