Experience
Rodger has more than 30 years experience in healthcare, the last 12 years with Milliman Care Guidelines. In his career in healthcare, he has held the position of nursing assistant, adolescent counselor, family therapist, individual and group psychotherapist, acute program director, assistant hospital administrator, and hospital administrator/CEO.
In positions as a nursing assistant and therapist he was responsible for the direct delivery of clinical services.
In positions as program director he was responsible for the design, operations, and ongoing management of the therapeutic program for adult patients in acute psychiatric facilities.
In positions in hospital administration, in addition to many other responsibilities, he was responsible for hiring and supervising all hospital department heads and ensuring that all JCAHO, Medicare, and Medicaid standards were met. He was also responsible for ensuring profitability, referral and census development, marketing, contract management, and operational efficiency.
As the CEO of a start-up managed behavioral healthcare company, he was responsible for development of all systems necessary to go at-risk for managing the behavioral health benefit of enrollees. He also served on the Board of Directors of the American Managed Behavioral Healthcare Association (AMBHA).
He has the distinction of being the first sales executive at Milliman Care Guidelines. Over the years, he has provided solution-oriented sales consultation to the nation's largest health plans, quality improvement organizations, recovery audit contractors, provider groups, and hospitals, with the primary goal of helping them improve quality and efficiency of care.
In 2010, he was elected as a principal of Milliman.Education
