Current responsibility

Takahiro is a consultant in Milliman’s Tokyo office. He joined the firm in June 2010.

 

Experience

At Milliman, Takahiro has been involved in two major M&A assignments; he was responsible for reviewing and developing insurance assumptions, such as mortality, morbidity, lapse and expense, as well as the coordination of project planning with the clients. He also supported MG-ALFA model development and a research project on regulatory environment in relation to product development in Japan.

Before joining Milliman, Takahiro worked for 15 years at Dai-ichi Life, where he gained experience developing and implementing a cashflow generator for individual life and annuity, as well as performing all the actuarial work for group insurance. For the last eight years, including two years in New York, he was involved in international discussions on International Financial Reporting Standards for insurance and related areas, as well as EU Solvency II and international regulatory standards being developed by the International Association of Insurance Supervisors. He also has experience working on reserving and cashflow testing in the U.S. as a trainee at an American insurer.

At the Institute of Actuaries of Japan, he served for four years on the Insurance Regulation Committee, which addresses international regulatory issues.
