Experience
Craig co-manages Milliman's Seattle Life practice and works with clients on mergers and acquisitions, reserve valuation, financial projections, reinsurance transactions, cash-flow testing, and risk management. The practice generally focuses on individual life and annuity product lines, both fixed and variable. Craig serves as the appointed actuary for Union Fidelity Life Insurance Company, a GE subsidiary with more than $17 billion in assets. He has managed several projects in Asia, primarily mergers and acquisitions engagements and enhancements to U.S. GAAP financial reporting processes.
In addition to his consulting experience with Milliman, Craig has more than 17 years of company experience in the life insurance industry. He has served as chief actuary and appointed actuary for two large stock company groups:
- From 1979 to 1991, Craig worked for Merrill Lynch, rising to the position of vice president and chief actuary for Family Life Insurance Company and for Merrill Lynch Life Insurance Company when it was launched in 1985.
- From 1995 to 1997 Craig served as the vice president and actuary for GE's insurance group that was subsequently spun off to become Genworth Financial in 2004. Craig assisted GE with the IPO and has done several consulting projects for Genworth.
