Current responsibility
Barry is a principal, consultant and actuary with the New York office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 1988.
Experience
Barry’s experience includes consulting on Taft-Hartley pension funds, involving both annual valuation of plan liabilities and costing of prospective plan improvements negotiated under the collective bargaining process.
Barry’s experience also includes consulting on corporate sponsored pension plans with respect to the levels of contributions required in support of prescribed benefits and in the development of modifications in benefit structure either to realign with evolving employer objectives or as compelled by statutory directive.
Barry’s consulting role has additionally included rules of FAS 87/88, FAS 106, and GASB 25/27.
Other functions include performing complex studies and projects, such as cash balance plan design and implementation, discriminations testing on both defined benefit and defined contribution plans, and nonqualified plan design studies and issues.
