Current responsibility

Ji Kwen is a consulting actuary in the Amsterdam office of Milliman and joined the firm in 2007. She and her team carry out consulting assignments in the Netherlands and Belgium. Prior to this, she worked two years as senior actuarial consultant at Group Actuarial & Risk Management of Delta Lloyd Verzekeringen BV (subsidiary of Aviva) on the non-life and health side. Before that she worked six years for Mercer Oliver Wyman as senior consultant (non-life and health).
 

Experience

Ji Kwen has performed a wide range of actuarial consulting missions for a variety of clients, mainly major Dutch insurers. She advises clients in the areas of statutory reserving, including liability adequacy testing, reporting, valuations, product development/pricing, reinsurance and risk management. Her experience in health in particular includes:

  • Model design for a price-elasticity model for the new Dutch health system (basisverzekering)
  • Development of the internal capital assessment model for the new Dutch health system
  • Product development/pricing
  • Utilization/profitability projections for health portfolios
  • Mergers and acquisitions
 

Education

  • Master's degree in Econometrics, University of Groningen
  • Master's degree in Actuarial Science, University of Amsterdam
  • Graduate of the post-doctoral vocational study program, Actuarial Institute
