Experience
Prior to joining Milliman, John worked for 10 years at a well-known, publicly traded managed care company, the last five as corporate vice president for health data analysis. John was responsible for actuarial services, as well as data analysis in support of utilization management, quality assurance, and provider contracting. His projects included implementation of HEDIS reporting and sponsorship of the data warehouse project. He was also involved in strategic planning for the health services area.
John specializes in analyzing the performance of healthcare delivery systems, from the perspective of both financial risk and the quality and efficiency of services. John's industry background provides him with insights into the types of financial and clinical management data that can catalyze improvements in quality and cost. His academic training in health services research and epidemiology and his current work with the Milliman Care Guidelines LLC clinician staff make him uniquely suited for projects in which clinical issues are addressed from an actuarial or statistical perspective.
