Current responsibility
Don is a consulting actuary with the Los Angeles office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 1986.
Experience
Don has experience with virtually every line of property/casualty business, including workers’ compensation, general liability, and professional liability. He also has considerable experience with unemployment insurance, asbestos, environmental, underground storage tank, and construction defect losses. Among the actuarial services he provides to private carriers, state funds, captives, and self-insureds are:

- Statements of actuarial opinion on reserve/rate adequacy
- Reserving, ratemaking, and financial analyses
- Evaluation of reinsurance arrangements for transfer of risk
- Assistance with commutation strategies
- Review and development of rating plans, dividend plans, and branch office loss allocation plans
- Modeling the impact of business plans on a client’s balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow
- Representing clients to auditors, regulators, rating agencies, and the Internal Revenue Service
