Dr. Rifkin is an editor of the Inpatient and Surgical Care (ISC) and the General Recovery Guidelines (GRG) sections of the Milliman Care Guideines®. It is his responsibility to review the evidence base supporting these hospital-based sections and to keep them up to date.

Bill has been with the Milliman Care Guidelines since 2009. Previously, he was an internal medicine residency program director and an associate professor of clinical medicine. In this role, he supervised and participated in the medical education of newly graduated physicians who chose to specialize in internal medicine. He also published research on the care of patients admitted to the hospital and on the practice of the specialty of hospital medicine.
