Experience
Since joining Milliman from JPMorgan in April 2008, Alan has consulted to insurance companies on XXX/AXXX financing, other life securitization transactions, M&A transactions, reinsurance strategies and other projects involving capital management, hedging strategy design or principles based approaches to reserves and capital.
Before joining Milliman in April 2008, Alan worked in investment banking and structured reinsurance for 16 years, in consulting for 4 years and for a mutual life insurer for 5 years. During 2003 to 2008 most of Alan’s focus was on originating or advising on XXX/AXXX financing, and during 1990 to 2002 most of his focus was on originating or advising on derivative transactions, funding agreement issuance, surplus note issuance, structured reinsurance transactions and other capital management transactions.
Since 2006 Alan has been an active member of the Asset Subgroup of the Life Reserve Working Group of the American Academy of Actuaries and the Chair of the Hedging Team of Asset Subgroup. From 1991 to 1997 Alan served as an active interested party advising the NAIC Invested Asset Working Group on the topic of Derivative Instruments.Presentations and publications
