Current responsibility
Art is a principal and consulting actuary with the Indianapolis office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 1980 and manages the Indianapolis Health Insurance and Clinical Management practice.
Experience
Art’s major area of expertise is individual and group health insurance and disability income, including strategic planning, new product development, financial projections, mergers and acquisitions, and benefit plan design and funding. His continuing client base includes healthcare providers (hospitals and physicians), pre-paid health plans, insurance companies, ancillary medical service providers, pharmaceutical companies, and self-funded insurance plans.
Art has developed an expertise in the trends affecting the delivery and financing of healthcare. This expertise is evidenced by his continuing service to more than 35 hospitals and health maintenance organizations. In addition, Art consults to pharmaceutical companies and medical device company in the areas of disease management capitation, as well as contract strategy and market analysis. He is a former faculty member for a series of educational seminars sponsored by the American Academy of Otolaryngology, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.

- Art delivered a series of capitation lectures at the 1995 annual meeting of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
