Matt Kranovich
Matt Kranovich is a principal and consulting actuary with the Chicago office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 2012.
Experience
Matt has 19 years of experience as a healthcare actuary, including expertise in managed care, financial reporting, and Medicare Advantage (MA) and Part D programs. He supports clients with pricing, financial reporting, pro forma projections, and other analyses for medical and prescription drug benefit plans.
Since joining Milliman in 2012, Matt has assisted local Special Needs Plans, regional MCOs, and large national carriers in MA and Part D strategy and bid preparation. He supports clients in every phase from initial product strategy through bid finalization, desk review, and audit support. Matt has also performed modeling and analysis related to Star ratings and the CMS Out-Of-Pocket Costs (OOPC) model, and has analyzed commercial and Medicare risk adjusters to determine potential pros and cons of incorporating pharmacy data into those models.
Matt began his actuarial career at Health Care Service Corporation, where he spent four years working in financial reporting and managed care pricing roles. He then moved to Deloitte Consulting, where he spent seven years leading CMS bid desk reviews of hundreds of Medicare bids on behalf of CMS, and contributed actuarial expertise to GAAP and statutory audits of health plans and supplemental health insurance carriers.
Matt has also presented on Medicare topics at various industry conferences over the past five years, including the 2017 SOA Health Meeting and eight MA-focused seminars hosted by organizations such as Healthcare Education Associates (now known as RISE) and Insight Exchange Network.
