Stephen M. Couzens

Stephen began his property and casualty actuarial career in 1989 with Aetna Life & Casualty, where he gained expertise in personal lines pricing. Stephen began his consulting career with KPMG Peat Marwick, where his responsibilities included pricing and reserving of commercial and personal lines of insurance for both public and private entities. Stephen consults to clients on the start-up of new insurance operations and the development of new insurance products. In addition, he assists clients with self-insurance programs, captive insurer programs and feasibility studies. Stephen's regulatory experience includes actuarial support of statutory financial examinations and rate filing reviews. He is actively pursuing his actuarial credentials through the Casualty Actuarial Society's examination process.
