Maria Becker is a consulting actuary with the Philadelphia office of Milliman. She joined the firm in 1996.
Maria has more than 25 years of experience in the health actuarial field. She provides consulting services to health insurance companies, including Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, managed care organizations, and other insurers. She assists clients in the Medicare and Medicaid markets, providing an array of consulting services, including:
Maria has extensive experience with the Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement programs. She has assisted clients with Medicare Advantage feasibility analysis, bid preparation, and risk score analysis. She has advised an array of plans, including HMOs, PPOs, and dual-eligible and institutional SNPs. She has developed financial projections and provided support for product development of Medicare Supplement individual and group policies. Maria has significant involvement in Medicare-related research for the firm and manages the development of the Milliman Ages 65 and Over Health Cost Guidelines. These guidelines are used both internally and externally for analysis and development of Medicare products.
