Waleed Cheema
Waleed Cheema is an actuarial consultant in Milliman's Dubai office with over nine years of experience in the pensions and non-life domain. He joined Milliman in 2020.
Experience
Waleed is part of the team that performed the 2019 and 2022 actuarial review for GOSI. He has been a key member of teams working on the corporatization studies in KSA and the recently concluded POB study.
He also manages the public pensions and IAS19 valuations projects for Milliman’s clients across the UAE, KSA, Oman, Turkey, and other countries to ensure annual valuation reports are signed off in compliance with government law, regulatory, and IAS19 requirements.
Pension assignments include:
- Funding valuation of public pension plans
- Benefit transfers studies for inter-fund transfers
- Accounting valuations as per IAS 19, US GAAP, IPSAS 39, etc.
Waleed also works on various reserve valuation projects for insurance and reinsurance companies in the region.
Prior to joining Milliman, Waleed worked for four years with Nauman Associates, focusing on pensions and non-life assignments. His pension experience included valuation and accounting disclosures for a variety of retirement plans in Pakistan and the Middle East.
