David Laird

With extensive experience across insurance and asset management transformation, David brings deep expertise in operating model design, technology-enabled change, outsourcing strategy, and operational efficiency. He advises clients across the asset owner, asset manager, and asset servicer value chain, helping organisations design and implement operating models that improve performance, reduce cost, and support long-term strategic objectives.

David has a strong track record of leading complex transformation programmes, including the creation of a new investment management business within a major UK insurer. He developed the business case, designed the organisation and operating model, supported recruitment, and selected and implemented technology platforms to support the business. His experience also includes large-scale outsourcing, platform consolidation, and post-merger integration programmes, overseeing service provider transitions, TUPE transfers, and operational migrations.

In addition to his consulting experience, David has held senior industry leadership roles, including Head of Change for a UK asset management organisation. He built and led a multidisciplinary change function, implemented portfolio governance and prioritisation processes, implemented a new approach to benefit tracking to ensure projects were delivering measureable value, and delivered front-to-back technology and business transformations.
