Alice Chuang is an associate actuary with the Life Practice in Milliman's Seattle office. She joined the firm in 2022.
Experience
Since joining Milliman, Alice has worked on a variety of projects, including financial reporting, pricing, and valuation process and control development. She has extensive experience in optimizing and streamlining complex financial models. In a recent undertaking, she transformed a cumbersome Excel-based financial reporting backend into a Python-driven process. The improvement reduced manual work and processing time. Additionally, she established robust audit logs within the process for data movement and key calculations, significantly enhancing transparency and control. In another recent project, Alice transformed complex Excel spreadsheets into dynamic Power BI dashboards, utilizing tools such as SQL queries and Power BI DAX measures to optimize calculations and enhance data analysis efficiency and accuracy. Her proficiency in version control techniques ensured seamless integration during iterative development and revisions. Alice brings a diverse background in the life and health insurance sectors.
Prior to Milliman, she held positions focused on valuation and business analysis for group health plans, and derivatives settlement and reporting for a life insurer. These experiences further broadened her skillset in workflow automation, statistical learning, and proficiency with a wide range of analytic and data processing languages (R, Python, SQL, and SAS).
