
Jim Severson
Jim Severson is a consultant and relationship manager with Milliman’s Employee Benefits Administration Practice. Jim is responsible for the overall client management and administration of daily valued plans. Jim joined Milliman in 2022.
Experience
Jim has worked in the retirement and insurance industry since 1994. During this time, he has served in a variety of roles, including project management, executive committee presentations, mergers & acquisition consulting, system implementation and conversions, participant communications, and compliance. Jim has also worked extensively with defined benefit plans, deferred compensation / 409(a) plans, 401(a) plans, and both governmental and non-governmental 457(b) plans. For most of his professional career, Jim was a plan sponsor, allowing him to understand and approach the common issues and challenges that most plan sponsors face through the lens of a plan sponsor. Before joining Milliman, Jim worked as a senior retirement consultant at CUNA Mutual Retirement Solutions. Prior to that, Jim served as a plan sponsor in a variety of positions at American Family Mutual Insurance Company, S.I.
