Inflation: A P&C reserving actuary’s guide

We have entered a period of unprecedented change, with unpredictable and record high inflation after a long period of low and stable inflation. In this paper we give a brief overview of the recent inflation trends before discussing factors that a reserving actuary may need to consider relating to inflation.
