Aisling Barrett
Aisling Barrett is a principal and consulting actuary in Milliman’s Dublin office. Aisling joined the Dublin practice in 2006, having previously worked in Prudential International Assurance and PwC consulting.
Experience
Aisling's experience is primarily in the life assurance field for both the domestic and cross-border life assurance markets. She has led a wide range of life consulting assignments with a diverse client base. Her experience covers Solvency II, financial reporting, life assurance product development, and strategic consulting work, e.g., the establishment of new life companies.
Aisling is significantly experienced in the role of the Actuarial Function, Reviewing Actuary, and Risk Management Function for insurance companies in Ireland under Solvency II. She has significant Solvency II knowledge and has supported clients in meeting Solvency II requirements across the three pillars. Aisling also has extensive experience in leading the development and review of models for Solvency II technical provisions and SCR calculations.
Aisling has authored the Milliman manual and checklist for the actuarial function to ensure compliance with Solvency II requirements.
In the pensions field, Aisling has produced several reports on public sector and state pensions for clients.
Aisling is an active member of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland and has participated on working parties. Aisling was also a member of the Retrospective on Solvency II working party of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries that was awarded a certification of commendation for its paper “A Review of Solvency II - Has it Met its Objectives?”
